Plans for the Future

Plans for the Future

I’m excited to announce that the Mash Elite Performance has found a new home. I signed a lease two weeks ago on a new building that we are now doing a build out on. We are partnering with TFW Fitness in Lewisville, NC, which is about 10-minutes from where we are now in Clemmons. My longtime friend Chris Mason owns TFW Fitness, and we are super excited to combine our expertise.

TFW Fitness is focused on general fitness with a concentration on movement, conditioning, and strength. Coach Chris has done a great job in building his business to become the most trusted health and fitness provider in his area. I love the fact that he is motivating the everyday mom and dad to get off the couch and move again.

Mash Elite Performance will continue to focus on strength and conditioning for the athletes along with weightlifting and powerlifting. Together we have everything covered. The most exciting part of the entire equation is the level of knowledge that will be coming together with Coach Chris, Coach Don McCauley, Coach Sarah Johnson, Coach Crystal McCullough, and me.

Together the coaches will have:

• Multiple NSCA CSCS Certified Instructors
• Multiple coaches with their Master of Science Degree
• Two Senior International Level Weightlifting Instructors
• All of us have been competitive athletes at the highest level.

This is why we are going to focus on education. Our plan is to host Free Clinics on a monthly basis on varied topics like:

• Importance of functional movement
• Nutrition
• Anti-Aging
• Basics of weightlifting
• Mobility
• Athletic Speed and Vertical Leap
• Why adults should never stop training like an athlete

Education is one of my missions in life, and it’s something that I really enjoy. I love giving back. That’s the main reason that I write so much, podcast, and post so many videos. I want to educate all of you on the areas of life that I have loved my entire life. I want to share this love with all of you.

We are hosting our first seminar entitled “True Health and Fitness” this weekend Saturday August 19th at 10am. The speakers are:

-Chris Mason, BS, TFW Certified, CPT, World Champion Powerlifter, Head Coach TFW Winston-Salem, co-host of International Podcast The Barbell Life

-Travis Mash BS, USA Weightlifting Level V, CPT, World Champion Powerlifter, ex Nationally Ranked Weightlifter, and Coach of Team Mash Mafia

-Dr. Lawrence Gray, D.C., owner of Gray Chiropractic & Sports Associates, specializing in human movement, soft tissue, injury prevention, rehab, and recovery.

Here are the topics:

• Cardiovascular Training and Importance
• Importance of Strength Training
• Range of Motion
• Movement: Key to Quality of Life
• Nutrition

This seminar is focused on working adults, but everyone could stand to learn from this one. There are a lot of elements that make up true health and fitness. Some people think that going to the gym is enough. That’s actually one small step in a more complex equation. It’s not just hitting a few machines, riding a bike, and then going home.

It’s much more about proper movement patterns that require optimal range of motion. Strengthening the muscles that support the joints is another important aspect. As we get older our joints will start to ache, and our range of motion will start to diminish if we don’t do something to counter the reaction. This weekend we will teach people how to quantify where they are in regards to optimal movement patterns and range of motion. Then we will give them some ideas on improving the scores.

Of course if they go home and eat terrible food, all of the things they are learning are rendered useless. Nutrition is something that all of us know that we should be focusing on. However we have formed some major bad habits over the years, and we want to teach you how to break those habits.

Our goal is to help all of our members reach their goals. We want the adults to feel their bodies returning to a younger state. The way to do that is to continue doing the things of our youth like running, jumping, and moving. Nothing is more rewarding than helping adults feel younger again. The fountain of youth might be a myth, but we want to get as close as possible.

See you guys this weekend at:

Remember the clinic is Free to everyone, and it’s open to non-members as well. We will also be able to show you the space that we are moving into. Together we will be 4,000 square feet, so quite a bit bigger than we are now.
