Meet the Mash Coaches

Coach Jacky

Jacky Bigger is in her sixth year weightlifting during which time she placed second twice at University Nationals top five nationally. Jacky currently trains with Coach Mash and Coach McCauley and has also trained with Coach JianPing Ma at Lindenwood, Coach Glenn Pendley, and coach Chris Wilkes. Jacky holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human performance from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater and Master’s degree in Exercise Science from Lindenwood University. She interned with the UWW and Denver University strength and conditioning departments.

Coach Crystal

Crystal McCullough is a nationally ranked powerlifter. She is an RN with a Masters degree in Nurse Education and holds the NSCA - Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification. She has multiple other certifications to include USAW Level 1 SPC, CFL2, and USATF. She was a CrossFit affiliate owner from 2015-2017 before relocating to Mash Headquarters to work for Travis full time. She is also the mom of 14 year old, Morgan.

Coach Matt

Matt Shiver is a current Doctor of Physical Therapy Student at Duke University. He graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition Studies. While there he was the co-founder of Appalachian State’s Mountaineer Weightlifting Club. He is currently the Olympic weightlifting coach at Bull City CrossFit. Matt also holds the NSCA - Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification.

Coach Nathan & Coach Hunter

Over his eight year weightlifting career, Nathan Damron has won multiple youth and junior national championships while also medaling at senior national meets. He has competed at nine total international competitions including a top-seven finish at a senior world championship. After starting with coach Boris Urman he spent many weeks with coach Zygmunt Smalcerz at the Olympic Training Center. He then moved to Mash Elite Performance to train under Coach Mash and Coach McCauley.

Hunter Elam started her athletic career playing competitive soccer for ten years. She then moved on to CrossFit in 2014 before ultimately becoming an Olympic weightlifter in May of 2016, training under Coach Mash and Coach McCauley.
